International Credit Mobility (ICM)

The Erasmus+ KA171 programme enables students from FSMVU’s partner universities in non-European countries to study at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Vakıf University (FSMVU) for one or two semesters. Students experience a unique academic environment, gain international perspectives, and explore Istanbul — where East meets West.

Programme Overview

Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility (ICM) allows students from FSMVU’s global partner universities to study at our institution for a semester or full academic year. FSMVU offers English-taught courses in diverse disciplines, combining strong academics with cultural engagement.

Eligibility & Nomination

  • Students must be nominated by their home university under a valid KA171 Inter-institutional Agreement.
  • Must be enrolled in a higher education institution eligible for Erasmus+ ICM.
  • Must have completed at least one semester before applying.
  • Must provide English language proficiency (B1 level or above).
  • Must submit complete application documents by the official deadline.

Nominations should be sent directly to the International Programs Unit (IPU) by the home institution’s Erasmus coordinator.

  • Learning Agreement for Studies (signed by all parties)
  • Transcript of Records (in English)
  • Certificate of Enrollment (in English)
  • Copy of Passport (photo & visa pages)
  • English Language Certificate (if available)
  • Digital Biometric Photo
  • Health & Insurance Form
  • Motivation Letter

During the Mobility

Incoming students receive full support from the International Programs Unit (IPU) regarding:

  • Course registration and ECTS recognition
  • Residence permit and insurance guidance
  • Academic and administrative support
  • Integration and cultural events

FSMVU organizes orientation meetings, city tours, and intercultural activities at the beginning of each semester.

End of Mobility

  • Students receive a Transcript of Records listing all courses and ECTS credits.
  • A Certificate of Attendance is issued by the IPU.
  • All credits are officially recognized by the home institution under Erasmus+ rules.
